The objective of this project was to introduce a new loop line and platform at Ponders End station in order to increase train frequencies. This would provide an incentive to future housing development around the area and will benefit the wider route of the West Anglian main line.
The alterations required to fulfil the operational aspirations of the project include extensive modifications to an existing SSI interlocking which currently controls the affected area. We provided the specialist SSI expertise to develop the most practical and efficient solutions for this complex engineering project.
Prime Rail Engineering Ltd provided an agile design and independent verification service to help WSP to successfully deliver the following signalling design reports:
- GRIP3 Signalling Design Specification
- GRIP3 Alarms Strategy Report
- GRIP4 Interlocking Control Requirements Specification
- GRIP4 Interlocking Data Development Plan
